RU, I see only one picture. That one matches closely with brown rot shoot blight. Soggy is what it loves so another positive correlation. The only thing I can't tell for sure is if the live leaves are on that shoot or a different one; more pictures are needed to see fully whats going on. It could be that that one shoot died back at the base and its not brown rot shoot blight after all. Make a bunch of followup posts to add pictures. It looks like a European plum that had too much heat this year. My Euro plums also look pretty ragged now, it was a rough August for them. Do watch it next year for signs of disease, there may have been some problem earlier. I had aphid problems which helped make my Euro plums ragged this year. Scott

I planted a small plum tree last summer. It made it through the winter fine but this summer the leaves are curling up as if it gets no water. In other words, they are dry and crispy and shot thru with holes. We are in a semi drought here in south Georgis so I water every few days. I see no insects other than a friendly yellow spider. I am to the point of digging it up and potting for a year. Now the leaves are starting to go limp and drop off. Help!

Just got a FLF about a month ago and the leaves are browning mostly from the outside in. Today it started dropping leaves. I've been checking the soil with a bamboo skewer and only given about a cup of water when it comes out dry (twice since I received it). There also looks like there may be spider mites? I'd like to repot and separate the two trunks in 5:1:1 mix but I wasn't sure if it's too late in the season?
