Perhaps you have red Marconi or Monster Bells. Thes peppers get up to 8-10 inches long. Do tdhey taste like bell peppers? I don't know why some peppers get gnarly and deformed, I guess that it's just a pepper thing. If your peppers taste like bells then you grew some nice ones if not you probably got the wrong plants. This happens frequently with peppers for some reason.

I have round ones too. This is a small 100 gallon oblong. This is the same oval tank from several years ago. If you set your tank directly on the ground I would suggest you coat the outside bottom of the tank with spray undercoating. You can buy it in cans at parts stores. It will help protect the bottom from rusting. I spray paint the outside of my tanks. I think it helps them look better. Good luck with your project.

flygirl, That's a matter of maturity, but it can go a little faster if you give it full sun and some warmth, particularly in spring and fall (their main growth periods - as long as it's in a range of growing conditions, which you'll learn about if you read any of the threads here with lots of posts about jade / Crassula ovata, it will be growing). Personally, I'd have it on a high-energy diet, a very loose soil (so it can be watered often, but not too much), lots of air circulation, temps in the 80s during the day and 60s at night, bottom heat (which you can achieve if you wrap a cat around it), and quarterly fertilizings. Don't repot often, but if you see lots of leaf growth, prune (this will make the trunk at least appear to be thicker than it is, and eventually it actually will become so). Oh, and don't fuss over it - they like that phrase common to these plants - benign neglect. There's also an FAQ to read (check the link). About a year ago I needed a beveled mirror to fit the frame of a medicine cabinet door I had made. I was locked into a size and could not find anything to fit, so I had one made. That little 12 x 17 was $80! I called all the glass shops in the area too, and that was the cheapest. Most were well over $150. If I hadnÂt had my heart set on beveled IÂm sure it would have been cheaper. But once again, I DO want beveled! (WHY am I so darn picky? My house can be dirty, but yet I NEED a beveled mirror. Huh. ) ThatÂs a good idea for mapping the mirror and pictures out on the wall with taped up paper. Beats having my husband try heroically to hold up 3 at once while I run back and forth to take a look from a distance. The border is coming down, just waiting for warmer weather so the bottom half of the wall can be painted. IÂm thinking of doing a simple chair rail instead, since top and bottom of walls will be 2 different colors. I might pick something simple for the molding. I have a feeling I will not find a wood species that will work stained. Maybe just a pre-primed pine or MDF painted a dark brown. I could add a glaze of some colors to tie it all in.
