 o
question re septic tank and tree roots

The man who cleaned my septic tank a few months ago told me to use a septic product which has copper chloride. He said that it will burn the ends of tree roots, which are encroaching on the septic tank. He claimed there would be no real harm done to the trees. Is that true?

He said there are two types of Rid-X on the market, one of which contains the copper chloride. I have only seen one type of Rid-X in the local stores.
