wind damaged ocotillo

Posted by jbaborr (My Page) on

Hello,

We have a 4 ft ocotillo that was blown over in a wind storm. It broke cleanly just below the crown, so the plant is still intact, but not the roots. I am wondering if I can just replant it as is, with the crown and no root, with the hopes that is will root out, or should I take off all of the branches and plant them individually (as in cuttings).

Thanks for the help!

RE: wind damaged ocotillo

Ocotillo are sold with just a crown and stems so go ahead and plant it.
