Watering help for gardenias, nandina, begonia and clevia in shade

Hose: I've set up a 50 soaker hose in a long, thin, wall enclosed area (2 X 30 Ft.). The hose runs from one end to the other, then I doubled it back for 20 feet. Hose says "One gallon per hour per foot", so I get 50 gallons per hour.

Soil: Dark soil that had been planted many years ago. I did the "two times the size of the pot" planting hole and filled with planting mix recommended by nursery when planting a month ago. Applied fertilizer two weeks ago.

Plants: Thirteen plants - a mixture of gardenia, nandina, begonia and clevia.

Environment: California: Sunset zone 23, USDA zone 10b. Planted area is in full shade all year long.

Timer: The battery operated timer allows many options. I've set it for three minutes at 5 a.m. I tried a manual 3 minute watering and there seems to be plenty of water on the surface, but I have no idea what I need to get the proper amount to the roots of the plants.

Questions:

1. Is daily OK, or should I set for several daily waterings?

2. How many minutes?
