Pink Princess Escallonia 'Fradesii' Full Sun/Part Shade

hi.

i love the appearance and characteristics of this plant. i want to plant 4 1-gallon plants for a border. they will be in full sun. i'm getting mixed opinions on whether or not they will survive the arizona full sun. some big box sales people have told me that they do great in full sun while others say that in arizona they would need some shade.

i'm hoping someone can share their first hand experience with this plant in full sun areas in Phoenix. i don't want to plant them only to have them disintegrate in the next few months!

any input is greatly appreciated.

Sunset Western Gardens book doesn't even list them for Zone 13 (Phoenix), and say "part shade" for inland California.

I trust them far more than I would any garden center's employees. You will have dead plants by the end of the summer.
