Albuquerque Garden Show/Sale

Just a reminder that the annual garden show and sale at the Albuquerque Garden Center is next Saturday. I went for the first time last year and am definitely going to go again this year. Lots of fun and interesting to see what other folks are growing here.

I think the center is a non-profit, many of the local garden clubs meet there. I missed the cactus show a week or so ago, darn it. It's not a big commercial thing like those "Home and Garden" shows at convention centers, more like local hobbyists.

Anyway, hope to see some of my fellow Garden Web'ers there!

Thanks for the reminder and the description. I'd been thinking of not going, expecting it to be another showcase of "store-bought" gardens/landscapes. But it's always great to see what other actual gardeners are doing!

To Stacy in NM... you simply must go to this garden show! They have all types of heirloom plants and things you can't buy anywhere else. It's awesome! I went last year for the first time and really enjoyed it. The plants are dirt cheap (no pun intended) and really healthy. Plus they have seeds and all. See you there! :)

Do they have another show in the fall? I want and need to purchase everything then. Moving to a new home with absolutely nothing! I will have too use only fall planting methods and plants. Needed/ bushes/trees/flowers/rocks/boulders/feeders/ and many other things. It has nothing. Just nothing. I have never lived anywhere without some type of garden. Places to purchase/trade, etc will be so very appreciated.
Thanks.

Not that I know of... I think they might have a native plant sale then. But most folks will be busy thinking about the State Fair at the end of September, and then the Balloon Fiesta at the beginning of October.

Hmmm - wonder if we could organize our own GW plant swap around then - it'd be nice to coordinate with any out-of-state gardeners that might be planning to attend Balloon Fiesta. Just a thought...

Lindseylu, I ended up missing the garden show after all b/c of "unforeseen circumstances." : ( (And I'm sorry not to have replied to your comment earlier--I hadn't checked this thread again.) From all I've heard about it, it's really a great experience. Next year it takes first priority, no matter what!

ABQ_Bob, a swap of some sort this fall would be great. Maybe a combination swap/sale? It sounds like a couple of us have new gardens and might not have much to offer yet as an exchange (except for cold, hard cash)...

Bump! It's that time of year again : )
The Fair and Sale is this Saturday, (April 26)- I'm definitely in for some heirloom tomatoes, veggies, and daylilies!
