Seeking Persea americana var. drymifolia (Mexican avocado)

I've been working on some Oaxacan/Mexican recipes in the kitchen, and I'd like to grow my own hojas de aguacate (avocado leaves). I can't seem to find a source for this specific type of avocado online. It has to be drymifolia, as other types of avocado have poisonous leaves.
Ironically, as houseplants in Zone 5, avocados produce nothing BUT leaves, so I could easily cultivate one in a pot if I could locate a pit or fruit.
Does anyone know where I could buy a pit or sprout of Persea americana var. drymifolia?
Thanks!
