crepe myrtle

Is it too late to transplant a crepe myrtle bush that has now leafed out, but not showing any buds, yet? Its in an awkward place and a thorn in my side. I want to move it to a different spot. I know I should have done it when it was dormant. Please advise.

Move it, with as big a rootball as possible.
