Vine suggestions for central NM

We have a southern facing front porch and would like to grow a vine up the posts. We are in zone 6 and I would prefer something that flowers and is perennial. Any suggestions?

Trumpet vine (Campsis radicans) is a husky perennial with orange or yellow flowers that should work. But I don't know the size of your posts, and you may have to whack this plant back somewhat each year. For something more tame, you might look into climbing roses. Tamer yet would be old fashioned sweetpeas.

I have had great luck with honeysuckle. It seems to do fine in heat and doesn't need too much water. There is a red one (unscented) that is especially tolerant, but I do fine with others as well.
