Ficus and Pool Equipment

My husband and I are first time pool owners and we are in the process of landscaping our new home. The home is a new build. We wanted to plant a dense tree on the side of the house in the backyard to block the neighbors view and their security camera from our backyard and pool. We chose a Ficus based on its nice dense canapy. But now (after the fact) I'm researching the tree and finding it to have invasive roots. The tree is 3ft from the pool pipes, I think I already know the answer...but I'll ask anyway...do we need to move the tree from the pool pipes? If yes, what is the suggested distance, and what is a good replacement. Currently other trees in the backyard are Queen and Pygmy Date Palms for a tropical feel. Any comments suggestions would be VERY much appreciated to this novice gardner!!
