Esoteric Communities near Santa Fe, New Mexico

I recently envisioned a community near Santa Fe that is started by an esoteric religious group. The idea is to help people who have never owned a home, to live in a drug free, peaceful village. The people are taught organic gardening, self-sufficiency, solar power. The children learn to respect their elders, to speak the truth, to honor Mother Earth, to have a good work ethic, & to teach these qualities to others, either by staying in the original village or starting other villages around our country.
This project is started by a sculptor & his wife, who is an author & illustrator. They own a gallery in Santa Fe.

Anyone interested?

You 'envisioned' this community, or you 'visited' this community??

Sounds like a sculpting commune located in AZ off of I-17 between Phoenix and Flagstaff. I haven't visited.

The ideas sound great, but I'm more interested in instilling and bringing back these basic principles in existing communities. What about that?

I meant "invisioned". I was doing a VISION STATEMENT for my church group & this came out like automatic writing. I am trying to find out if there is such a community that already exists, or if it's one I'm supposed to start. There was much more to the statement, but the essence is that the community is as self-sufficient as possible, & teaches values to the children & even the adults who have warped values.

Some poor people don't get the same chances to know right from wrong because they are just trying to survive. Some people, myself included, have never owned a home. I would like to be part of a place where people respect one another & have common goals.

I think learning to garden & live off the land will be a REAL ISSUE in the near future. I want to be part of the solution, not the problem. And "yes", I do want to impact people in the place where I'm living. I'm 65 years old, have raised my children, learned a little about life, & am ready for a way to impact this Earth in a good, healthy way.

So....if anyone out there knows of such a place, let me know.

Try looking up Arcosanti. The group is an artists' commune in Arizona. I don't know much about the group, but here, they have a website. http://www.arcosanti.org/
