| I am about to plant an Agave americana medio-picta alba in the midst of a tropical bed. In order to avoid overwatering the plant, I am going to mound up some sandy soil on top of a layer of gravel. The plant is small, but the mound will be large to leave space for growth. What small plants/succulents could I place around it in order to fill in the mound?
Thanks

| Try some of the pink or burgundy echevarias. If you plant them in masses it would be dramatic around the agave. Another choice would be a large mass of the blue spiked succulent ( I can't remember the name, but they are a real strong bluish gray) Maybe someone else will know of the name? |
