Lorna, just checking in to see how your ceanothus fared. Thriving, or at least, alive? How well do they take summer water, etc.

Thanks, dl

RE: Ceanothus --- Lorna organic

I just bought a ceanothus concha. I am still debating on exactly where I want to plant it and it was a sale plant that needed help, so I think for now anyway I am going to put it in a pot in a very sheltered place. If they can do well here I want to propogate it and plant a hedge with it. Does anyone else grow this? My concern with it is that it cannot take strong winds. I have a great spot for it that I would like to plant it, but there are winds there..... of course maybe I could "plant" a boulder or a large stump I have near it to block the wind.....
