Rubber Tree Roots

Posted by juliade CA (My Page) on

Could anyone shed some light on how to control rubber tree roots. I have an 80 foot rubber tree in my backyard and its roots are on a destroy mission. Not only, have the roots overtaken half the backyard making it impossible to grow anything on the ground, but now, the bully, having turned the driveway into a war zone, is heading for the garage foundation. Loosing this ruthless oppressor is not an option. Any suggestions?

RE: Rubber Tree Roots

Gee, other than digging and putting in a concrete barrier underground, you've got an impossible situation unless you take the tree out. I would weigh the cost of the damage to your love of the tree.
