I am working on my landscape planning, and am thinking of having a postage-stamp lawn in my desert garden. That is, very, very small, like 3x5 or 4x 6. One book I have suggests planting only a winter lawn of rye or fescue in October.

so my question is -- if this lawn dies in the summer (and I don't plant a summer/Bermuda lawn) -- do dig the whole thing up again to re-seed the rye the next year?
