Rodent Proof Color

Can anyone suggest colorful perennials/cacti that my Mojave Desert rodents will leave alone?

So far, they won't touch the desert willow, texas ranger, sotol, Yucca recurvifolia, and golden barrel cactus.

But pretty much anything else I put out becomes part of the buffet. I don't want whole sections of my garden where everything is protected in a foot-diameter tubes of hardware cloth forever.

I'm especially interested in groundcovers. Maybe some cold resistant sedum?

I'm dealing with antelope ground squirrels, wood rats, baby cottontails (maybe baby jackrabbits), and field mice.

Thank you!

Google 'home made rabbit/deer repellents'. The upside is they are inexpensive and they work. The downside is they need to be reapplied every 4-6 wks. or after being washed off by watering or rain. I use one with great success.
