Cedar City is a neat little town in southern Utah that may interest you. It is about 2.5 hours from Vegas.

You can find real estate info from the link below by going to Resident Guide --> New to Cedar City --> Real Estate.

    Thank you..here is alittle bit more info.. Hello;
I am a 32 yr old married lady from IL. Been married for 14 yrs. With 2
kids...my boy is 11 yrs old Cole(boarder coliie/lab mix) and my girl
is 4 yr old Mia(retired greyhound)..

I was born in the Northwoods of Rhinelander,Wis and lived there for
the first 7 yrs of my life and the rest of the time I lived in IL.
My dream is to move to a 2 acre piece of land in the mountains and
build a log cabin to live in. I want to be able to have a garden and
maybe a few chickens and a horse..But still be able to enjoy plenty of
wildlife(like deer, moose, ect) and maybe have a small lake nearby where
I can hear the calls of the Common Loons..

I do not hunt but have lot of family that do..I would not beopposed to
trying it..I do love to target practice with my vary of guns and love
going to the local gun shows when posssible..As for other outdoor
activities camping and fishing are enjoyable things for me.

My husband is not like me at all..he's a modern techy..and couch potatoe..

So I would like to meet ladies with the same interest as myself.

As for my career--as of right now I am unemployed..But am am
registered Pharmacy Technician..so looking for a job in that field for
now...my dream career would be owning a used bookshop in a small town.
Hubby would like to operate a chess store in the same building with a
    cafe in between them both.

Hope to make new friends here...
PS..Is there a scheduled chat night and time??

Hi Lisa...Haven't had much time to be on the computer lately, so just saw your message. I lived my entire life in WI. (mostly outside Milw.). Move here to St. George, UT. about 3 yrs. ago. St. George is in the very SW corner of the state. It gets VERY hot here, but it's a short drive to a more comfortable climate. It's a wonderfully beautiful state but extremely different in many ways than living in the Midwest. I would be very interested in contacting you direct to share some insight & experiences if you would like. (I promise to check the board more often!) Look forward to hearing from you, Lisa. mary

Hi Lisa - I think you might love Kingman, Arizona or the sleepy, but starting to boom little town of Seligman, Arizona. Or check our Williams, Arizona - all these town are cute, quaint, and your cafe would go over great! All on Historic Old Route 66 -- Land prices are good too!

We live 1 1/2 hours south of Vegas in Kingman, but we do have land for sale in Golden Valley where we used to live, but its only 1 acre. We moved to get hubby closer to the Dr But this is Mohave county, strictly high desert country, all mostly 1 ac. pieces of property.

I am from Cedar City, Utah. It is about a two and a half hour drive to Vegas. People are always building on Cedar Mountain which is just east of Cedar.

You will find plenty of cheap land in the desert that lies between Vegas and Palm Springs! Oh my!! Cheap!! And then you will be looking for trees on here! hahahahaha Big shade trees!! I live in La Quinta, and it's 4 hours to Vegas! There is a lot of interesting stuff along that back road drive. In the middle of the desert you will find a tree that is loaded with shoes! The shoe tree. Oh, and then there is a ladies undergarment tree also. In the middle of nowhere. There is hardly any place to stop, so you could make bank with a nice cafe along the road. Cheap land! Cheap!
