Crape Myrtle

I was given a Crape Myrtle as a gift, it was given with a beautiful 3' ceramic pot which I palnted the 4' Myrtle in. I would like to keep it in the pot but I am afraid it my get to big. I was told this is the bush not the tree, although i have had a hard time finding a bush listed. Is this going to be ok on the pot?

For a year or two unless you keep it pruned each year and root prune it every two years. It is true CM is a shrub. Yours has been trained, by pruning, to be a tree.
