Natural Crabgrass Killer

I seeded a problem area with Blue Gamma grass seed and it is doing quite well but I have patches of thick Quackgrass/CrabGrass and I want to find a natural Post-emergent means of controling Quackgrass. Also would like input as to the effectiveness of Corn Gluten Meal as a Pre-emergent. I will not use any product with 2,4D period!

Has anyone ever used these remedies listed on the Iowa forum as a Post-emergent

1) spraying with 8 oz. of baking soda diluted in 1 gallon of water. I know that this creates a "lethal dose" of sodium but used sensinbly and not repeatedly, maybe so. Any thoughts?

2) treating the area with egg shell since, "Crabgrass cannot tolerate calcium". The delivery method is unclear. The only thing that I can think of is to liquify it in a blender and apply with a "Sprinkler Can"? Is there another form of Calcium that someone could suggest?

I live in the Denver area.

Thanks
