Wait until the seedpods turn brown then remove the seeds just before the brown pods burst open or immediately after, soak them in lukewarm water for a 24 hours period prior to sowing. They germinate easily in any well drained soil. Ankrara's Hobby Corner

| I planted my seeds all around the garden.I'm in the high desert of CA arid)They came up everywhere! Full sun, partial shade and even a couple in full shade. I buried them 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the soil and watered normally. They were fast growing and it only took a month to get baby tress 4" tall.PJ |

It might also help to "clip" into the hard seed with a pair of nail clippers after a two hour soak in warm water. Fold the seeds into a wet paper towel and place in a baggy for a couple of days. I've had 100% germination with this method. Zill |

| Would it be wise to cover them up in the winter? I know you guys get several nights per winter where the temp. goes below freezing with occasional snow. Do you live in the Apple Valley/Victorville area or the Palmdale/Lancaster high desert area? |
