Planting Fruit in Summer

Posted by gregfull TX (My Page) on

New to the site, and need to know if Summer planting of fruit trees is recommended or not. I've got an irrigation system set up to water about twelve trees on a 25 foot grid, so the water is there. Should I wait for Fall? Plan to plant apple, peach, plum, fig....Thanks for the replies.

I planted fruit trees in the summer before and they were stressed. They didn't fruit for at least a year as they established themselves. As long as they get watered they should survive.
