help with bamboo plants

Greetings! just joined the forum in the hope to find some good advice :)
I recently bought 7 bamboo plants in a yard sale. They are between 7 and 10 feet tall, still in their original black plastic containers. I believe they are golden goddess.
First, should I put them in larger cedar planters? Second, I will be away for 8 days in October. It will probably be still nice weather in LA. Will the bamboos still need watering every day? any suggestion regarding an adequate watering sytem for those 7 plants?
