With cold nights and warm days here, do tulip bulbs or others need refrigeration? What bulbs can be left in the ground besides iris?

Tulip, hyacinth, daffodil need to be dug and chilled. Or considered an annual ... my mom just planted more Plants that will do well left in the ground: Narcissus, amaryllis, star of bethlehem, Peruvian squill, jacobean lily

I know daffodils and tulips get chilled enough just being in the ground in both Boron and Rosamond over the winter (both Sunset Zone 11). Of course, we had them on the northeast corner of the house in Boron and on the north side of the house in Rosamond, so they weren't getting a huge amount of midday winter sun warming up the soil.
