I'm in Texas and we have lots of what I believe to be Parkinsonia aculeata but I've seen one Parkinsonia that doesn't have noticable thorns and has a brighter green bark. Any ideas? I used to call the first one Retama and the second one Palo Verde but I realize these arbitrary common names don't help ID it.
Thanks!
