tibouchina urvilleana in Phoenix?

Hi,

I just got a tibouchina urvilleana (princess flower). I am told it won't do well here, but I couldn't help it, had to get it. I have it on a north-facing balcony that doesn't get direct sunlight, but it's mostly bright there. Some of the flower buds are falling off. I would like to make this plant work, if I can...

Thanks

I have never had much luck with this plant and have always treated it as an annual. But for every failure this is usually some one who manages to succeed.
