Can anyone offer information on germinating fresh Dasylirion spp. seed? Specifically, does it require special treatment (e.g., stratification)?

In mid-October, I collected this seed from in-city ornamental plantings in Albuquerque. Information as to the species most commonly used by landscapers would be extremely helpful too.
