I am wondering if any of you know the best way to trim back a large iris bush. It seems to defy power tools. I trim it by hand as much as can but it's a pain. I inherited this overgrown shrub from the previous owner. The long slender leaves will not be trimmed by a hedge trimmer, chain saw, japanese gardening saw, weed wacker, or ax. Does anyone else have a better plan? I feel like hiring someone to dig the whole thing up which would be quite a job.
