Starting a school/community garden

| Several years back the city planning agency flexed their immanent domain and bought several houses in my neighborhood and demolished them for a freeway expansion project. After the project was completed, it became clear that they did not need that many houses and a large empty field was left over. I am beginning the process of trying to turn that field into a community garden for the local elemetary school. I am looking for any info to help me embark on this long nail biting, hair pulling journey. Anyone have any ideas? On funding? Permissions? |

| just wanted to share w/ you some links re: kids and greenspace that i am using for arbor day at my schools, the folks at this site are great and sent fliers to me right away! No funding but it might be great material to distribute when trying to raise $ for your cause!
