| At our local Children's Museum, we have a small garden: wooden frame with plastic bottles imbedded in ?plaster. The kids can take pretend vegetables & "plant" them in the holes--they can practice sequences: carrot, tomato, carrot, etc.
At our state Capitol's museum, they have a larger wooden frame with many small cloth beanbags in different shades of brown. A "compost" bin and lots of stuffed animal critters. Accessories are small wheelbarrows, toolboxes, trowels, etc. Kids seem to really enjoy this. What does your local museum have to encourage gardening with kids? |
