I am planning an outdoor classroom with my 7th grade students and am looking for grant money or businesses who are willing to contribute to our cause - any ideas?

nwf.org (National Wildlife Org) Certifies Homes and Schoolyards as Habitat. Good Booklet and info.

Do a search. Start asking local businesses/philanthropic clubs..... Have fun.

Here is a site you should look at, they give a number of grants each year.

My 8th graders raised the money to start our school garden by selling tee shirts with an environmental theme.

NWF designation is an honor & does entail some freebies but it isn't a grant program. Do look into it tho' Our school became a schoolyard habitat last spring. it's a good catalyst for all sorts of projects-including fundraising.

We turned our school grounds in to an outdoor growing lab last year. No money. Here is a link that might help... it's to our on-line newsletter. Click on the 'Thank You' tab to see where we got what. We had no money and 1,200 kids to work with. Let me know if you need seed. We have many to share. Use the e-mail link under 'About Us) on the website.

might want to consider this free program for fundraising. If you can get parents and faculty to participate, it would be worthwhile. http://www.schoolsaver.org
