I saw that post but didn't want to add fuel to the fire, but I wanted to mention that the best garden center in my town has courteous, helpful employees and a sandbox in the corner with toys for your children to play while you shop.

The link is definitely dead, and I don't know if I want to read what it says or not, but, Pshaw! Leave the children at home? NO WAY! It is the highlight of our children's day when we take a trip to the garden center. Even my 2 year old says, "Dat's Singa's gweenhouse!" as we drive past! :-) Lisa

The whole thing is in Mom or Dad's hands. If they make them behave it can be a wonderful trip for everyone. I have been in a greenhouse when children are running wild and the parents do nothing.. I was at one one time and the owner asked a mom to take her children and leave. Most people were pleased when they did this... It was awful.. This mom had no clue why she was asked to leave. This is what is sad.. Being beyond the small children years I often comment to parents on well behaved children. I had this happen to me many years and have never forgotten it. It was like a wonderful pat on the back... Our children learn from us everyday.. We only have one shot at it.. Susie

Thank you Miss Mudcat.... I have done daycare for almost 30 years in my home and I could write a book on parents and their kids.. Sadly, it is so simple but many don't want to put the time into it... So when they are in the teen or later years many parents can't figure out what went wrong.. Anyone that has taken a well behaved child anyplace knows just what I am talking about.. It is wonderful for everyone... I am now a grandma of 3 and I take my grandchildren to town and THEY behave.. We have a wonderful time... We do kid things and grandma things, too. I don't have to bribe my grandkids to behave. We simple spend a wonderful day together... When they tell mom and dad, mom and dad know just what we did. Some are the same things we did when they were young.. We make our own memories... They last a lifetime.... Enjoy.... Susie
