Painting cut outs in Picket Fences

Our master gardeners club is planting a childs garden and has picket fences that we want to cut out a hole so the child can put their face in, and on the outside have a painted object - (scarecrow, flower) or any other suggestions you may have. What we really need is patterns if anyone knows of any somewhere on the web or if they have done such a project any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

What a darling idea!
As for patterns - children's coloring books. Also talk to you school art teachers - not just elementary, but junior high & high school too. One of them would probably be happy to sketch some for you.

Just curious - do you plan to make the holes much larger than a child's head, or quite small so that only a face shows, but a chin won't get stuck?

Happy painting.

Good ideas, actually the holes are just small enough for the face to show. Hopefully when we finish I will post a picture. Thanks for help

Adorable idea! I'd include flowers, too…butterflies, bees, praying mantids, etc. :)
