Two year-olds - gotta love them - I think....

| My two year old has been such a sweetheart - she mostly stays out of the garden beds, picks the ripe blueberries, knows the names of bugs, picks the flowers that grow in abundance and leaves the singletons alone, helped me plant the impatiens - she would sprinkle the right amount of fertilizer pellets in the hole, pull the plant out of the cell pack and put it in and pat the dirt around it.
Now it's that last leads to trouble - every day it's "let's plant some flowers Mommy," and I say, "no more flowers, honeybug, we planted them all."
So today suddenly she has a plant in her hand -"let's plant some flowers Mommy". And she's yanked up the zauschnerias and salvias I'd been rooting - the zauschnerias left all their roots behind. And she didn't want to help Mommy look for the cuttings in the grass.
Two IS my favorite age. In spite of it.

| I have my own two-year-old and we spend a lot of time in my yard. Last night he was ripping pumpkin starts out of pots and helping me put them in the holes. We have to search for wormies, save the bees and give the plants that are crying drinks. He comes up with all sorts of crazy terms for things he sees or what we are doing. I enjoy it, but boy it is hard to actually accomplish something. |

| You have active, wonderful, inquisitive children! Congratulations! I know it takes a lot of patience, and they are lucky little kiddies to have parents willing to spend time with them. I commend you. |

| Boy this brings back memories. MY DS, now 6, once went out to play with his little toy mower. Well he comes running around the corner yelling "Mommy come quick and see what I did." He had cut over all my impatients that had grown bush size and invaded some of my yard. He thought he was helping mommy keep her flowers in their bed where they belong. Not so funny then, but sure brings a smile to my face now thinking about how proud he was for helping me. And yes you do gotta love them no matter how old!!! Conni |
