My husband has built a flower box about 15 feet long and 18 inches wide. I want perenial plants, so I won't have to replant every year. We live in central Texas, about 120 miles from Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene and Wichita Falls.
It's usually hot, dry and windy. Also, is there a perenial flower that attracks hummingbirds?

How deep is the flower box?? This is IMHO more important than the other dimensions.

WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF PERENIAL FLOWERS? WE LIVE IN MICHIGAN--I HATE TO ACT IGNORANT BUT IT'S CONFUSING FOR US NON-GREEN THUMBS--ALSO WHICH FLOWERS ARE CONSIDERED ANNUALS? What causes Gladoluses to be all rusty? I have a friend that lives in the Adriondacks. He ended up throwing away all his bulbs because they had rusty leaves and blossoms when they bloom. Thanks
