Sunflower pics

I have a four year old that just loves to garden! I am so excited to see her out there helping me plant, water, even weed. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it?
Here is a pic (not a very good one :( of her standing under a sunflower that she planted all by herself!)

Another pic I took last night. It would be pretty good if those stupid phone lines weren't in the way.
Oh well, you see it as it is...:)

Wow, that's a great photo of your daughter under the big sunflower. Keep gardening with her; it's a wonderful hobby to share and it will keep you connected to her over the years.

I've heard of planting several sunflowers in a circle to make a "sunflower house" so kids can go inside the circle. Not a great big circle, one maybe 4' across.

Do you know what kind of sunflower that is? I had tall ones this year, but the flowers were so heavy they nearly pulled the plant over.

The "sunflower house" idea sounds so cool. Maybe I will try that next year.
I don't know what kind of sunflower that is. My daughter got the seeds at the daycare to plant at home. Actually, and you will probably think I am a total "newbie", I didn't realize before this year that there were varieties of sunflowers. I have always seen them like this one. I was fascinated to see how many different varieties there are.
I have been gardening most of my life and I just learned about these. Dumb or what? LOL
I was lucky to get a picture of this one standing so straight. The very next day its poor head started drooping. :(
It was sure nice while it lasted. It is still hanging in there though.
