Is there anything wrong with this?

I saw on a landscaping show that you can build kids a "rock pit" with landscape cloth and gravel, etc. I thought about buying my little boy one of those turtle things that you use for sandboxes and filling it with gravel because he LOVES rocks and already has one of those table sandboxes. He'll be 3, so I realize I'll have to make sure he doesn't eat it. What do y'all think? Or is the pit idea better? I have plenty of room, I was just thinking in terms of keeping it cleaner.

Thanks!

I have a 3 yr old and he uses his sand/water table for rocks. At one point both sides on the table were filled with rocks and sand, then rocks and recently just water :-) What ever sparks his interest to explore I am happy to oblige!!!

It s good idea, since he already has sandboxes, why cant you try rock pit that will increase his interest. and you can make him understand how to handle it. i am also planning to set up something like that for my 2 year old daughter.

As long as it drains, it sounds fine.

Any windows nearby?
