How to start vermicomposting with students

I also posted this on the soil forum:
I recently learned that another teacher slash master gardener is going to start an herb garden (amongst our major remodeling)with the students and I want to help by providing vermicompost. Any thoughts or ideas? I'm sure that these middle schoolers won't mind transfering the worms since I won't! Any starter ideas? I will buy whatever my class needs to get this started. What do I need? Thanks in advance!!!

Keep in mind that worm doodle might be too rich in nutrients for certain herbs…
There are some great web sites that you should look at,

Here is a link that might be useful: Worm Digest
