Science Test Question

My daughter is in Grade 3 and she had a science test question that asked why a seedling might die. The answers were:

a. it was too young

b. it lacked nutrients

c. it lacked sunlight

d. all of the above.

My daughter could not decide between b or c so she chose b. teacher says answer was d. I asked how a seedling could be "too young" and die from that condition. I suggested it could die becaue it was genetically flawed as in too weak. But she refuses to even discuss it.

So you are all experts, can cause of death of a seedling be simply it is "too young"?
