This is the terrarium I built out of an old 30 gallon hex tank. It was initially intended to house a pair of Epipedobates tricolor frogs but I have put their purchase on hold for a while, while I finish the tank.
The bottom is about 4" of Hydrotron pellets topped with a 3" substrate of coco peat. The plants seem to love it and the moss plugs I introduced have began to cover the surface. There are several species of epiphytic fern, orchids, bromileads, epiphytic cacti and mosses and all are doing very well. The tank is lit using one 23watt compact florescent made by Envirolite. I mist the entire tank each morning with RO water, there is no fan but the top is only 3/4 covered to allow for some airflow.
I can't wait until the plants fully establish and the orchids begin to bloom.
