someone help

guys I plants seeds last week that i have had for awhile and I bought the soil from walmart it was solid (frozen) thawed it planted the seeds in he trays and today I found that most of them have been destroyed.

the surface has nat like bugs but there are little worms (and I do mean little) eating my seeds someone help what and i supposed to do? how do i get rid of the bugs?

I forgot to state that the soil I bought was the large bag of the miracle grow potting mix

How do I kill the bugs and worms and not hurt seeds that I have left?

There may be a way to get rid of the bugs (Fungus Gnats most likely) without hurting the seeds, but, if so, I am not aware of it. You can sterilize the soil by pouring boiling water over it, letting it sit and get fully sturated, and then straining the soil to get rid of the water. That will probably kill the seeds, though, depending on what species they are.

Yikes!Tough problem! I know that you can get rid of knats and aphids on leaves by using a very mild liquid dish soap/ water solution spray. I don't think it would harm the seeds if you watered them with a weak solution :& But, whether it will work or not...

If it is fungus gnat larvae, then the odds are that the seeds are already dead. The larvae feed on fungus and decaying matter. If the seeds are old and dead, fungus would quickly go to work on them.
