| I bought two of these terrariums, last week at Pier 1 for only $7 each! Today, I was able to get the violets for them. :)

| Very nice! Are you going to plant them in the terrarium? or just keep them this way? They look really nice! Ana :) |

| Thanks. The plants will stay like that. It is only a table-top terrarium, so it doesn't have a bottom. I have another terrarium (same kind); I still haven't decided what to use it for, although when the plants in this one get bigger, I will have to move two of them out. Sarah |
|
| Hi Sarah, I really like your table top terrarium. Could you tell me what the dimensions are? Larry |

| Hi Larry. It is about a foot tall, and 9.25 inches wide. Here is a photo of the unused terrarium:

| Beautiful! I must hurry over to a Pier 1 this week! Were they on sale, or is that regular price? They're not clearance items, are they? Oh, I hope I can find one. . . Oh yeah, two of those plants are primroses, not african violets, and it's easiest to just throw them out after they've finished blooming. I do love them though. So springy! =) |

| sahoyaref - I bought them at the Pier 1 clearance store. I don't know if other Pier 1 stores sell them. Perhaps check online, or call your local stores. Sarah |

| Oh I love your terrariums. I am thinking of getting 2 for myself. They would be perfect to keep my cats out of eating my flowering plants. Your new terraruims are simple and perfect. Thank you for sharing. Theresa |

| I checked the Pier One Imports online. They did not have them. I will check in town to see if our Pier One Import carry it. Are they under a special name? Theresa |

| I don't have the tags anymore, but I believe the tag simply said terrarium. | Hi again Sarah, One more question, what are the measurements of your terrarium's width and height? Thank you, Theresa |

| Theresa - Refer to a few posts above, with the picture of the ruler in front of the terrarium. Sarah |

| Sorry about that. Thank you Sarah. Theresa |
|
| I got one! They had four left, and guess what I paid for mine? $2.40!!!!! =) The lady at the cash register scanned it, and then said, 'Oh, that can't be right", so she went and got another one, but it came up the same, so she gave me that price! I was laughing all the way home. . . =) I would have gotten them all, but I only needed one, and I didn't know who else would want one. It still makes me laugh when I think of what I paid for that. . . originally $30, and down to $2.40, with tax. Unbelievable. . . =) |

| Congratulations sahoyaret! That is fantastic! Where did you find it? Post some pictures once you use it. You should have bought them all and sold them on ebay. ;) Sarah |

| Just as a precaution. I found out this terrarium can create too much humidity. Two of the plants developed mold, and I took them out to allow the mold to dry. Now, what I did to hopefully solve the solution is place coasters under each corner, to prevent air flow. Sarah |
|
| The humidity problem would be a problem with the plants chosen, not the terrarium itself. That is what they are supposed to do. =) African violets do tend to get mold on the soil though, at least mine do, but it never seems to harm the plants. I've got mine on a large saucer that is holding the plants (orchids, not in flower), so there are spaces to allow some air flow. To be honest, I don't think mine is keeping enough humidity in, but I haven't really set it up the way I want it yet. I need to waterproof the saucer and put some pebbles and water in there to make a humidity tray. I'll post pics when it's all nice-looking. =) |

| Actually, one of my African Violets grew mold on the flowers and leaves. I had to trim it up, and leave it out of the terrarium for a couple days. Sarah |

| Good day to all of you, Our Pier Imports did not offer your type of terrarium. I have to say you really found a great deal. I ended up buying a similar one on ebay but for more money. I set up one potted bulb Amyrillis and two other potted bulb flowers not in bloom yet. As you can see they are getting too tall for the terrarium. I took off the lid for a short time and one of my cats try to mull one of the plants that is leaning. I have another terrarium in the works that will solve that problem. Also I put in a small container of water for added moisture. For decoration, I added sheet moss and 2 shells for appearance. Thank you again for sharing your type of terrarium, it inspired me to this direction. Theresa |

| Thank you Sarah but it is because of you I have this type and love it. Theresa |
|
| VERY nice, Theresa! I love the terrarium! I also like to add shells and rocks for decoration. They are so interesting by themselves, they just add that extra element of beauty and the impression of age to terrariums. =) I tried to force some crocus and daffodils in a pot this year, but only the daffodils grew and flowered. I think that crocus must really require cool temps. the whole time they are growing and flowering. My amarylis was also a bust this year. No flowers, and only two leaves. I hope it's okay. . . |
