 o
newbie question

Okay folks, I just picked up a terriarum from a yardsale. It is about 18" long, 8"wide and 6" high on the high side and 6" high on the low side. The top is hinged so it can be anywhere from completly closed to wide open. The bottom is an open grate. I was thinking of putting the whole thing on "corner posts" above a pebble tray so there is air flow beneath the plants.
Now for my question..are there any plants I can put in there now without adding a fan to it? Lighting is not an issue. I'm hoping for small plants who like high humidity but don't need a constant airflow, or am I dreaming.
Thanks,
judy

RE: newbie question

I think you just might be dreaming =( sorry =( most plants, even plants that love high humidity need air flow to keep mold from growing on them, a constantly humid area with no air movement is perfect for little nasties (mold, mildew) to grow in, just think about a bathroom, mold and mildew =) place a fan/vent in that same bathroom, no mold and mildew =) hope that helps =)

RE: newbie question

It does, sigh, hoping I could rig up another growing area wihout DH complaining about little things like power costs.
Thanks for responding
Judy
