i found many shapes and sizes of glass containers at Michaels Craft Stores. You would need a clear glass saucer for a lid for the globe. The saucers are available at your local restaurant supply.

I sometimes find terrarium globes, of all different sizes. I check out yard sales, church sales, thrift shops (for older glass vessels cheap), etc.

Literally this week on my way home from the subway after work, I passed a street where folks had moved out & a pair of guys w/ a truck were going thru the remnants sorting for metal goods they could take to resell/recycle.

Off to the side I found a large, gorgeous, fluted glass globe, pristine condition, full of clear glsss marbles & cobalt blue marbles, just wonderful & waiting for ME.

Now, I just have to figure out what to plant in it ;>)

Have you checked on esty.com? There is a section there devoted to terrariums. There are usually some cool handmade containers over there (although they are usually a little pricey).
