| No one fed my turtles I rescued from the road. I put them in my backyard and they have stayed for two years, eating foliage and some carrots I may have, as well as they go thru the yard eating bugs.
They stay in my flowerbeds all year long, never have dug out and bury themselves in the fall, and come out late spring. I plant according to my turtles. The haven't led me astray yet. They always return to the flowerbeds each night and mid day. I do keep a pan of water for the red slider and she will get in it during the hot summer months. |

| I've started doing the same thing...I don't start planting outside until our three box turtles unbury themselves. We do feed them other than what they find on their own, they get pieces of fresh fruit, Tetra turtle food and whatever earthworms we might uncover as we're planting. Our three actually became five...we found one little baby last fall and one even smaller last week! |
