Seeking A Small Terrarium- where to find, or how to improvise

I have a few small carnivorous plants which I recently acquired: a sundew, a butterwort, and a Venus's flytrap. I can tell that they'd really appreciate being kept in a terrarium. I keep them at work, so I cannot have a very large terrarium. I would like something small, and not one of the plasticky starter kits I have found online. Does anyone know where I can find one, or if there is something I could purchase and adapt to my purposes somehow? I once had a little glass terrarium with a dome lid, but my cat broke it. I was told it was from the 70's, so I haven't found anything like it yet.

I can appreciate your dilemma as I had the same problem when I went looking for neat cool containers to grow Selaginellas in. The best thing I found was a thin glass
bowl with a lid-I supposed it was for candies or cookies ??
at the local Target store. There were also larger thicker glass cookie jars with lids-got one with an Africa Violet growing in it (without the lid-it is in my greenhouse).
If you love browsing then take your time but in the meantime a very inexpensive container is one of the large
plastic containers that bulk candy is sold in. I am not too sure where you can find it there but perhaps at a Costco type of store where you have to buy in bulk, cases, etc. Also check out grocers or WalMart etc for large containers, like pickle jars etc that may be adaptable and cool. Take your time.

I just recieved this today. I am not certain what to put in it yet. I had a gift certificate and don't need anything else for the yard ... so I figured what the heck. It is well made and adorable looking.

the mini-conservatory looks novel but it sure is small.
Is there a plastic tray iside of it to protect the metal from contact with moist soil or with water?
If you have a nice sunny but cool spot I would put in a couple of Venus Fly Traps! but you need a water tight tray to protect the conservatory.

Check out your local Goodwill/Salvation Army. Often there are all sorts of glass or plastic containers that would fit you bill.

A ten gallon aquarium (small rectangle that might fit in your workspace) will run you about $10 or so ($9.99 most places). You can get a glass top for it at any petstore, so that's an option too. :-)
