ressurection fern REALLY not doing too well

please read my "ressurection fern not opening-help!" post for the stats of the area it WAS in. All of the fronds were knocked off by a gray tree frog in the terrarium. Before, i had it on my background and pinned sphagnum moss around the roots. I have a small Lowes deathcube i converted into a soil making cube (sounds weird but saves some money). the cube is full of water and dead leaves that eventually rot and form 'peat moss', so I put the broken fronds in it and THEY REOPENED! does this mean they are still alive? for the fern rhizome, i took it out of the terrarium and placed it on damp sphagnum moss. I'm afraid this fern may die-or already be dead. PLEASE HELP!!!

If the rhizome is mushy or soft then it has gone. But I have heard can come back from a healthy sliver of good tissue. Clean all sauce looking vial from the tubers and use good water and they may just come back!
