Gluing Plexiglass to Wood

I am in the process of building a giant vivarium (see my newly posted pic in the gallery) and need to permanently glue some plexiglass to some wood. What is the best type of glue for this? Thanks.

I would try silcone. Try to design your frame to positively contain the perspex panes. An easy way is to cut a trench of the right thickness using a table saw or router.

Hi
Very ,very nice!! You're really going all out lol.
I would agree with Nathan, silicone is probably the best all around adhesive there is. The only exception I've found is gluing plexi to plexi. Tends to pop off after some time.
Plexi to wood should be fine,

Actually, I would reccomend avoiding silicon. Most acrylic is cast in a mold. In order to get it out of the mold, they have to use an additive called a mold release. Mold releases never fully leave the acrylic. Over time, the mold release seeps out of the acrylic and causes any surface adhesive to release. Since it is acrylic and you can drill it, I would use angle brackets or something similar. You could always go back and caulk it as well if you need it sealed, but don't rely on the silicon, it won't take long to release. Usually for bonding silicon you want a chemical agent that disolves the surfaces and bonds them into one piece, but since you are bonding to wood you will probably want to go with brackets. There is a chem out there that will do it (I think its called CE but I can't recall) but I would be surprised if it isn't toxic. I can look into it monday if you like.
