| Here, in a nut shell, is the result of our encounter with Mother Nature's fury:
Yesterday: Typhoon: sustained winds: 110 MPH with gusts up to 140 MPH. Surf: 19 feet with severe rip currents inside the reefs. Inundation: 6 feet. Rain: 15". Heavy flooding of coastal and low-lying areas. Today: Winds: 50 MPH with gusts to 65 MPH Rain: so far 5" and still falling, but subsiding. By our standards it was what we call "banana typhoon" meaning most damage done to banana trees. We were very lucky, this was to be a BIG one, but somehow the eye veered some to the north. No major damage to our landscape, just a couple of trees down.... Thank you all for your prayers! Now to take all the pots outside and do some cleaning... till the next one :( Ana |

| Ana Glad to hear you made it through without major damage. I feel sooo lucky to have escaped the path of Charley. 22 dead,77,000 thousand homes with severe damage..Still several thousand without electricity or water. The total may surpass Andrew, already pushing 12 billion in damages. Can't imagine what this will do to insurance rates.!!! Don't even want to think about it. Gary |
