Btw, there are no cacti that actually "are for terrariums." Though sold that way every so often, cacti and many succulents tend to make very poor terr candidates.

Ive had terrariums for several years now and find airplants and succulents to be ideal plants for them.

Found this co in the UK selling fully assembled ones as well as ones to make yourself - 4 arrived last week and they are very cool!....with succulents.

Over the years I have seen many plants put into small containers that look very nice but they are totally unsuitable as they nothing but very young large plants.

Some stores are only interested in "Sales" and nothing else.

Yes, I find those things to be gimmicky. Air plants are fairly slow-growing, but many of the succulents I see in those containers will outgrow them within a year. I want to talk to someone who got one of these tiny terrariums and kept it alive for more than a year. On the other hand, I've started little baby gollum jades from a leaf cutting, and they take well over a year to grow as high as an inch. So there are plants that could work in very small containers.

I would avoid a cacti/succulent terrarium and go for an attractive open container arrangement instead. There are many plants that love the warmth and humidity terrariums provide but sadly cacti and succulents generally aren't one of them.

Oops, I wasn't paying attention. Chances are they'll be fine for years before you have to worry about getting bigger pots.
